On the 27th October I wrote you concerning the slavery

cases in iong Kong. Yesterday the matter was discussed by

the Management Committee of the Federation, and it was thought

advisable in the first instance to do as we did with the

St. Kitt's business, - see you and see whether something could

not be done to remedy the evil without affording our enemies

opportunities of saying unpleasant things.

O'Grady and myself would be very lad to try and meet

your convenience.
